Arup Borbora is a popular and familiar name to the serious readership. His nonchalant and rational approach towards numerous socio-political issues touching the country and the world is writ large in his writings. An Alumnus of the Delhi School of Economics, the author is a Senior Advocate and reputed lawyer in North-East India. A former elected President of the Gauhati High Court Bar Association for two consecutive terms, the author is also a prolific Human Rights Defender and a writer of repute with several books and hundreds of thought-provoking articles, to his credit. His fearless write-ups and public speeches over the years have earned for him the reputation of an exceptionally brilliant writer and an orator both in Assamese as well as in English. The multifold talents in the author have not allowed him to be confined only to crucial and profound write-ups but swelled him into an extraordinary lyricist/poet vis-à-vis a highly successful novelist too. Naturally, therefore, Mr. Borbora’s books published over the years have earned wide acclamations in Assam and elsewhere.
